Sacred Spaces created Seivah: Sacred Aging, an initiative to support Jewish organizations in helping older adults age with dignity and respect while building institutional capacity to prevent and respond to elder abuse, with generous funding from the Sephardic Foundation on Aging.
To ensure that our work reflects lived experiences, Sacred Spaces is forming its first Sacred Aging Advisory Council (Seivah Advisory Council) to center the voices and insights of older Jewish adults in shaping this important work.
Members will contribute to the development of Sacred Spaces’ programming, resources, and strategies to prevent elder abuse in Jewish communities across the United States. Council members will help raise
awareness, inspire change, and promote healing in their communities.

Personal stories from those with direct experience or knowledge of elder abuse are critical to creating compassionate, effective responses. For victim-survivors, sharing experiences can be empowering and help challenge stigma. For organizations, these insights promote trauma-informed, values-based care rooted in dignity, respect, and collective responsibility.
We are seeking U.S.-based individuals with personal or professional experience in the areas of sacred aging or elder abuse prevention/response. This may include:

Do I need to be Jewish to apply?
No. Sacred Spaces welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. We ask that applicants either have a working knowledge of North American Jewish communities or demonstrate a respect for Jewish values.
