Strengthening Screening Practices – for Boston-Area Organizations

Effective screening is about more than conducting a background check. Thoughtful screening practices can help organizations select employees and volunteers who understand professional boundaries, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to a strong safeguarding culture.
In this hands-on lab, participants will work through four key stages of screening: position postings, applications, interviews, and background checks. Using practical tools, sample language, and peer discussion, participants will identify decisions their organizations need to make and begin drafting or strengthening their screening policies and procedures.
