Sacred Spaces has always envisioned offering resources to prevent and respond to abuses of power across the lifespan. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sacred Spaces published a series of resources in anticipation of the pandemic’s disparate impact on older adults and the increased risk of elder abuse and neglect.
In Spring 2022, with the encouragement of The Sephardic Foundation on Aging, Sacred Spaces launched Seivah, a resource center to increase the internal capacity of Jewish institutions (both residential and communal) to recognize, respond to, and prevent elder abuse. Seivah, at its core, is far more than training or protocol analysis; it is about institutional and communal culture change that supports Jewish people aging with dignity and autonomy.
Below are resources that have been developed for public use. If your organization is interested in training, case consultations, coaching, or policy review, please contact us here.
